Junior Software Tester

Are you an incredibly detail-oriented person with a keen eye for spotting inconsistencies, who loves working with technology?

We are looking for a Junior Software Tester to join my clients team in Hertford. In this crucial role, you'll be the voice of the user, thoroughly testing their software applications to ensure they are intuitive, functional, and bug-free before release.

This is a fantastic entry point into the world of technology, offering a 6-month contract with a clear pathway to a full-time permanent position. Beyond testing, this role is a great foundation for future career growth—you could move toward Project Management or even train for a Software Development role with internal resources and mentoring if you decide to learn technical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform manual testing of web and/or mobile applications.
• Follow test cases and scripts to validate functionality, usability, and consistency.
• Report bugs and issues clearly and concisely using tracking tools (e.g. Jira, Trello).
• Conduct exploratory testing to identify unexpected behaviour or UI/UX issues.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other testers to ensure quality standards are met.
• Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) processes.
• Provide feedback on improvements to the user experience.
• Retest resolved issues and verify bug fixes.

The successful candidate will have:

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies or issues.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Comfortable using computers, web browsers, and mobile apps.
• Previous experience in software testing, customer service or data entry (preferable)
• Familiarity with spreadsheets or documentation tools like Google Docs or Excel.
