Electronics Inspector – PCB & Assembly

Location: Shefford

Permanent, Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm

£27,000 – £30,000 per annum (DOE) Overtime Annual Profit Share

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Electronics Inspector to join our growing production team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in manual inspection of electronic assemblies, particularly populated PCBs, cable assemblies, and unit builds.

You’ll be working within a well-established electronics manufacturer where precision, teamwork, and attention to detail are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect a wide range of electronic assemblies including:
• Surface Mount (SMT) and Conventional (through-hole) populated PCBs
• Cable assemblies and harnesses
• Unit assemblies
• Perform first-off inspections and in-process quality checks to component level
• Identify defects or issues and provide clear feedback to production teams
• Use optical tools, magnifiers, and fine instruments for detailed inspection
• Record inspection results and complete quality documentation accurately
• Support packing and preparation of goods for UK and local shipment when required
• Occasionally assist other production teams with quality checks

What We’re Looking For

• Experience inspecting electronic assemblies in a manufacturing or PCB production environment
• Confident in working to detailed component-level standards
• Comfortable using inspection tools and interpreting technical build documents
• Highly accurate, methodical, and able to meet inspection deadlines
• Able to give constructive feedback and communicate clearly with colleagues
• Flexible and team-oriented with a proactive approach

Desirable Skills (Not Essential)

• Experience in reworking or repairing PCB assemblies
• Familiarity with quality systems or IPC standards
• Previous involvement in first article inspections or formal QA processes
