Automation Intern - Central Division

Job summary

Modality Partnership has a six-month internship for an Automation Intern. This paid six-month internship offers a hands-on introduction to the world of automation within healthcare. As part of our dedicated Automation team, you will help design, develop, and deliver real-world solutions that support the operational success of the Modality Group. Throughout the placement, you will gain experience across the full automation lifecyclefrom requirements gathering and design to development, testing, and deployment. You will also support the ongoing maintenance of robotics and automations, ensuring their reliability and performance. Salary for this role is £23,874.88 per annum WTE.

Working closely with senior developers and stakeholders across various departments and clinical practices, youll see first-hand how automation can transform healthcare processes and deliver measurable improvements. Main duties of the job

The role is an all-rounded, hands-on administration role; the postholder will need to complete onboarding and training, including an introduction to NHS clinical systems used in Primary Care and the automation tools we use. Learn about the automation lifecycle, including when and where automation adds value. Contribute to a live automation project, from requirements gathering through to deployment. Maintain existing robotic automations, ensuring they run smoothly and resolving issues efficiently. Produce clear documentation for each automation, including pre- and post-development sign-off and support transparency by generating reports and performance statistics for deployed automations. The postholder will work in collaboration with local divisions (including Divisional Boards) and the National Modality Business Support Team to deliver innovative ways of working to meet the strategic aims of the organisation.

Experience

Essential
  • Relevant training or experience in software engineering, automation, or related disciplines.
  • Proven experience using automation software to design, develop, and deliver effective automation solutions.
  • Experience with automation platforms such as Blue Prism or UiPath.

Qualifications

Essential
  • We are looking for students on track to achieve at least a 2:1 degree, with Level 6 GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths with a strong academic background and a genuine enthusiasm for technology and automation.
  • Six Sigma qualified.
  • ITIL certification or familiarity with IT service management frameworks.

Knowledge
