This is an exciting opportunity to join our specialist consulting team within our Data Services Practice, and we are seeking an experienced data professional with strong financial and ERP systems understanding who is ready to play a senior role in delivering high-quality data-led consulting projects for our clients.
We work with a wide range of different finance systems and as a Senior Data Consultant, you will work at the intersection of finance, technology, and data — helping clients modernise their ERP and data environments, improve financial and operational insight, and unlock the value of their data. You’ll bring both technical capability and commercial understanding, working collaboratively with clients to deliver practical, high-impact solutions
What responsibilities will I have?
- Leading and contributing to data-focused workstreams within ERP and finance transformation programmes
- Working closely with client finance, data, and technology teams to understand business requirements and translate them into clear data, reporting, and system specifications.
- Providing expert advice on financial processes, data structures, data governance, and reporting best practice.
- Supporting and overseeing data migration activities including mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation across legacy and target ERP systems.
- Designing and documenting data models, integrations, interfaces, and data quality frameworks.
- Conducting requirements gathering sessions, facilitating workshops, and preparing presentations for senior client stakeholders.
- Delivering data analysis, data visualisation, financial analysis, and insight generation to support client decision-making.
- Producing business cases, reports, and project documentation to a high professional standard.
- Applying internal methodologies, tools, and templates to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery.
- Ensuring all work packages are delivered on time, within scope, and to agreed quality standards.
- Pro-actively support the development of new business opportunities through bid writing, proposal development, and client presentations.
What technical experience is required for the role?
- Degree-level education (2:1 or above) in a relevant field (e.g. Data Analytics, Accounting & Finance, Computer Science, IT, or similar).
- Exposure to cloud data tools or reporting technologies (e.g. Power BI, SQL, Azure, Snowflake)
- Understanding of data governance, master data management, migration and integration principles
- Experience of working with public sector or large complex organisations
- Familiarity with project delivery methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile)
- Proven experience in a data or finance systems consulting role, ideally within ERP transformation or financial technology projects
- Strong understanding of accounting processes, data structures, and financial reporting
- Hands-on experience with data migration, data quality, and data analysis in a systems change context
- Willingness to manage a small team and develop your people management skills in line with company policies

Full job spec on request. You must be eligible to work in the UK on a permanent basis and be able to travel to the Sheffield office for 3 days each week.
