Platform Engineer - Site Resilience
Morgan Hunt are working with a public sector organisation to recruit a Platform Engineer to work in the organisations Site Resilience team. The purpose of the role is to support and enhance the existing storage and computing platform. This includes implementing efficiency savings and additions to the existing platform. Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute and plan towards adoption of NVMe
- Continue to enhance organisational resilience position
- Enhance and expand Commvault backup service
- Improve platform engineering for vMotion setup
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including the Product Manager, to define, prioritise and maintain the platform roadmap and backlog.
- Develop, support and continuously improve virtualisation and storage platforms in line with product and architectural roadmaps.
- Ensure platform security, performance, availability and capacity through effective access control, monitoring and optimisation.
- Support application re-platforming and lead the design, planning and deployment of new technology solutions.
- Manage platform health, data protection, backup and disaster recovery to ensure business continuity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform-related issues while continuously improving operational processes.
Essential Experience:
- VMWare 6/7/8.X multi-site environments
- Cisco UCS
- NSX environments
- Platform monitoring solutions and paradigms
- Disaster recovery planning and execution, including wider assurance activities
- Data centre management and best practices
- Windows and RHEL operating systems
