VBA/Excel Application Support

Morgan Hunt are working with an UK Government Organisation to recruit an Excel/VBA Application Support team member to join them on an FTC for the next 23 months. The main focus of the role is on Excel, supporting and creating spreadsheets, and on VBA. The role sits in the application support team, which is a smaller team, and a lot of focus is on the BAU side.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 2nd line support for incidents and problem resolution to minimize business disruption.
• Maintain, enhance, and support Excel-based tools (including VBA macros) for data analysis and reporting.
• Support and develop Power BI dashboards to improve data accessibility and insights.
• Contribute to projects and system change initiatives to continuously improve services and tools.
• Support financial trading systems to ensure smooth operations.
• Collaborate directly with end users, providing responsive and effective support.
• Help improve data and insight delivery across the organisation.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong recent experience in Microsoft Excel VBA and 2nd line application support.
• SQL Experience
• Technical knowledge of at least one of the following:
• Market data apps (Bloomberg, Reuters)
• Basic scripting (e.g., PowerShell)
• Application monitoring tools
• Proven background in 1st and 2nd line support.

• 23 month FTC (with a strong chance of being made permanent)
• £40k - £44k per year
• UK CIVIL Service Pension
• 35.5 days holiday
• Hybrid working (3 days in London, near Tower Hill)
