Director of Technology

Morgan Law is delighted to be working with Choice Support to help secure their new Director of Technology. The organisation is at the beginning of their new and ambitious five-year strategy for which technology is a key enabler. This role will be a pivotal part of the future strategic direction for the organisation. As a key member of Senior Management, you will be responsible for Choice Support's wide-ranging technology strategy and oversee the delivery of secure, modern, and reliable digital services. You will lead the IT team to strengthen support and deliver better outcomes, data and insights, whilst also leading their digital innovation ambitions linked to both staff and the people we support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of the technology strategy, aligned to our vision and five-year strategy.
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance to senior leaders on technology, risks, opportunities, and emerging trends.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for IT service delivery, cyber security, and operational resilience.
  • Set the long-term vision for technology and ensure the IT function has the capability, capacity, and support required to deliver reliable, secure, and user-centred services.
  • Lead the organisation's AI strategy and roadmap, ensuring safe, ethical, and effective implementation.
  • Identify and deliver AI-enabled opportunities to automate processes, strengthen decision-making, and enhance support quality.
  • Lead our Technology Programme to grow the use of assistive, smart, and enabling technologies for people we support.
  • Build partnerships with suppliers, innovators, and sector bodies to keep Choice Support at the forefront of digital transformation in social care.
  • Lead and develop high-performing business partnering teams across Technology, AI, and Data & Insight.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Significant leadership experience in IT, digital strategy, and technology transformation within a complex organisation.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cyber security, digital service delivery, and technology governance.
  • Experience leading organisational programmes involving emerging and transformative technologies, including AI.
  • Understanding of data ethics, AI governance, and safeguarding in digital contexts.
  • Proven track record of delivering technology change and innovation that improves service quality and operational performance.
  • Strong commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and person-centred technology design.

Desirable Experience & Skills

  • Experience in social care, health, or another regulated care/support environment.
