DevOps Engineer - Contract - Inside IR35

OverviewWe are seeking a DevOps Engineer with strong experience in Terraform and Amazon Web Services to support the build, deployment, and ongoing operation of a cloud-based platform.
This role is primarily focused on infrastructure, environment support, and CI/CD reliability, with exposure to event streaming technologies such as Amazon Kinesis.
Key Responsibilities Infrastructure & EnvironmentProvision and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform
Support environment setup, configuration, and readiness
Manage IAM roles, networking, and secure access controls
Handle secrets, certificates, and platform configuration
Support provisioning and maintenance of AWS services
Work with event streaming solutions (Kinesis or similar)
Assist with architectural decisions where required
Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline issues (build failures, vulnerabilities, artefact issues)
Support and improve CI/CD pipelines for feature-level deployments
Ensure reliable and repeatable deployment processes
Investigate and triage platform issues and failures
Perform root cause analysis and coordinate with relevant teams
Unblock infrastructure-related issues impacting delivery
Support monitoring and alerting for platform services
Work with Ops teams to ensure high availability and reliability
Contribute to ongoing platform stability improvements
Support integration with upstream/downstream systems
Assist with performance testing (including latency improvements where required)
Contribute reusable components, utilities, and best practices
Provide documentation and handover to operations teams
Strong hands-on experience with Terraform (modular infrastructure preferred)
Solid experience with AWS (IAM, networking, core services)
Experience troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines
Background in DevOps / Platform Engineering roles
Strong problem-solving and incident triage skills
Experience with Amazon Kinesis or other streaming platforms (e.g. Kafka)
Exposure to monitoring and alerting tools
Experience working in complex, integrated environments
Awareness of performance optimisation (e.g. latency improvements)
