Mainframe Systems Automation Engineer - Migration Project
Contract: 6 months (likely extension)Location: Primarily remote working (occasional office visits in Nottingham)Start: ASAP
We're looking for an experienced Systems Automation Engineer to support a major Mainframe migration project. You'll be joining during a critical phase of the project, helping to deliver through UAT, testing and decommissioning stages. Most of the conversion work is already complete, your focus will be ensuring a smooth transition, validating migrations and supporting removal of legacy products post-migration.
What You'll Do:
- Support system automation and output management during migration from Broadcom tools.
- Conduct UAT, validation and testing for migrated environments.
- Assist in decommissioning and removal of legacy software.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure delivery milestones are met.
- Work flexibly, including occasional Sunday evening support during critical cutovers.
What We're Looking For:
- Strong knowledge of Mainframe systems.
- Experience with OPSMVS, CA-View, CA-Deliver or Control-M.
- REXX experience highly desirable.
- Background in system automation, migrations or output management.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Splunk experience is a plus but not essential.
