Product Manager - Data & Finance Transformation

Hybrid working (Occasional office days required in either Manchester or London)

Initial 6 month contract | £500-585pd inside IR35

We're partnering with a fast-growing technology business undergoing a major transformation programme and are looking for a Product Manager to join a newly formed Finance Data team at a pivotal stage of growth. This is a unique opportunity to join at the very beginning of a high-profile initiative, influence the product approach from day one, and help shape how data moves across the organisation's future technology landscape.

You'll be responsible for leading the product delivery of a new data flow solution that sits at the heart of a major programme migrating finance systems to SAP S/4HANA. Working closely with Product, Engineering, Data and Business stakeholders, you'll create and manage the product backlog, establish delivery processes, drive sprint planning and ceremonies and ensure blockers are identified and resolved quickly. You'll combine strong product management fundamentals with technical curiosity, helping bridge the gap between engineering teams and business objectives.

This role offers the chance to work with emerging technologies and AI-enabled ways of working while helping build a new team, new processes and a new product capability from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and own the product vision, roadmap and priorities for a critical finance data product.
  • Create and manage the product backlog from inception through delivery.
  • Lead agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
  • Partner closely with engineers, data specialists and business stakeholders to deliver outcomes at pace.
  • Identify delivery risks, dependencies and blockers, ensuring timely escalation where required.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement and provide clear progress updates across the programme.
  • Support testing, deployment and continuous improvement activities.
  • Ensure solutions meet data governance, compliance and access control requirements.
  • Explore opportunities to leverage AI and emerging technologies to improve delivery and product outcomes.
  • Balance scope, timelines and budget considerations throughout the product lifecycle.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven Product Management experience within technology, data or digital environments.
  • Experience creating product backlogs and taking products from concept through delivery.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to track progress, manage risks and drive action.
  • Experience working alongside engineering and technical teams.
  • Good understanding of data flows, data integration, data governance or data compliance.
  • Ability to understand technical solutions and translate them into business value.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience working on finance transformation programmes.
  • Exposure to SAP, SAP S/4HANA or SAP migration initiatives.
  • Experience working within data-centric product teams.
  • Interest in AI-enabled product development and modern delivery practices.

Why Apply?

  • Join a newly established team with significant investment and growth plans.
  • Influence a high-profile transformation programme from the outset.
  • Work with modern technology, data platforms and AI-driven delivery approaches.
  • Opportunity to make a tangible impact on a business-critical programme.
