Job Description: DevOps Engineer Role Overview

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our Customer Platforms team. Our team works with stakeholders across the business to deliver a reliable, high-quality customer experience from end-to-end, from our corporate website to our critical business systems integration.

The role is primarily focused on extending, automating, and improving our cloud infrastructure, but offers the opportunity to collaborate closely on application development and software delivery. You will be working with a friendly, high-performing, cross-disciplinary team with knowledge and interests across our business and software stack.

Key Responsibilities
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Work closely with the team to design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud architecture using modern IaC frameworks and centralized Git repositories.

  • Observability & SRE Practices: Perform root-cause analysis of production incidents and mature our observability, logging, and metrics-gathering tools to improve system reliability.

  • DevSecOps: Ensure security by design, governance, and compliance across our systems, proactively monitoring vulnerabilities and embedding automated security testing directly into development workflows.

  • CI/CD & Release Engineering: Drive continuous improvement and continuous delivery, ensuring we deploy confidently and quickly by optimizing testing and deployment processes within our CI/CD pipelines.

Essential Skills

We expect a strong candidate to show experience and expertise in:

  • Advanced Infrastructure as Code using industry-standard tools (e.g., Terraform)

  • Core cloud platform engineering (e.g., AWS), specifically utilizing container orchestration, content delivery networks, serverless architectures, event routers, and message queues

  • Securing infrastructure, applications, and data in a hybrid cloud environment

  • Designing and maintaining robust CI/CD Automation pipelines

  • Implementation of open-source standards for observability (e.g., OpenTelemetry)

  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and system-debugging skills

Desired Skills

We are also keen to discuss experience in:

  • FinOps practices, including cost control, optimization, and calculation in cloud environments

  • Asynchronous architectural patterns, distributed systems, and event-driven engineering

  • Strong programming experience or a software development background

  • Alignment with international compliance frameworks, data privacy laws, and industry-specific regulatory guidelines (e.g., ISO standards, GDPR, Quality Management Systems)
