PMO Manager - PMO Lead, Portfolio Management, Technology, Change, Governance, Risk, Delivery - Financial Services - Permanent - London - up to £95,000 Base + Bonus

My client, a specialist UK Business Bank, is seeking a Portfolio PMO Lead to join their London based office on a permanent basis.

As Portfolio Management Office Lead you will play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the Project Management Office, driving stronger governance, delivery excellence, and strategic alignment across the organisation. As part of the Transformation & Change function, you will lead the PMO to ensure consistent delivery standards, robust governance, and effective project controls across a diverse portfolio. Working closely with senior stakeholders, delivery teams, and business units, you will champion alignment, transparency, and clear communication, while continuously improving how we deliver change and maximise impact. This cuts across all delivery within the organisation, and you will manage a small team of PMO Analysts.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Proven PMO Leadership experience, preferably from a Consulting background
  • Experience operating in a small scale organisation with minimal structure in place
  • Proven track record implementing and managing PMO functions in complex, regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem‐solving, and reporting capabilities.
  • Expertise in project management tools and reporting systems.
  • Ability to drive standardisation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
