Technology Business Manager to COO - 6 Month Contract / Data / Innovation - £800 Per Day Inside IR35 - London
A FTSE 100 Global Tech Organisation are currently seeking an experienced Business Manager to support the COO of a very pivotal business unit focused on delivering a multi billion-pound global programme. Within this role you will be playing a key part in an extremely high visible role acting as a trusted advisor to C-Suite, driving strategic business management, operational planning and alignment across global cross-functional teams ensuring effective delivery of business priorities across corporate functions, supporting technology strategy and owning staff re-organisation planning.
This is a high-profile, strategic, and operationally critical role at the intersection of technology, business strategy, and executive leadership. Acting as a trusted advisor to the COO and senior leadership, you will help shape and execute the organisation's global technology and data centre strategy, ensuring alignment between technical delivery teams and corporate leadership across more than 800 staff worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with the COO to define, prioritise, and execute business and technical strategies, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
- Bridge the gap between engineering, operations, and business functions - ensuring complex technical initiatives (e.g., data centre builds, infrastructure delivery, digital transformation) are clearly communicated and effectively managed.
- Oversee business management cadence, planning cycles, and performance reviews, ensuring progress against strategic and technical milestones is tracked and communicated.
- Support delivery oversight of major programmes, working with PMO and engineering teams to ensure risks, dependencies, and resource allocations are clearly defined and monitored.
- Develop executive-level presentations and board materials that translate technical outcomes into strategic business impact for senior stakeholders.
- Coordinate across finance, operations, sales, and technology teams to align objectives and ensure business continuity across global functions.
- Plan and support leadership offsites, town halls, and internal communications to maintain clarity and cohesion across a distributed technical workforce.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as a Chief of Staff, Business Manager, or Senior Business Operations Leader within a technology-focused or engineering-driven organisation.
- Strong understanding of technical and infrastructure operations - ideally in areas such as cloud, data centres, or enterprise technology environments.
- Exceptional strategic, analytical, and organisational skills, with the ability to interpret and present complex technical information in a clear, executive-ready format.
- Demonstrated success partnering with C-Suite executives to drive operational excellence and business transformation.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft 365 tools (including Copilot), with experience in developing business insights, dashboards, and executive reporting.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; comfortable engaging both senior business leaders and technical specialists.
- Willingness to travel internationally and work on-site three days per week in the London office.
