Contract Software Engineer
Contract Software Engineer - Up to £600 p/d - Fully Remote - Outside IR35
We are seeking a skilled Contract Software Engineer with strong expertise in full stack development to investigate, diagnose, and resolve defects across multiple layers of a complex application platform. The role involves working from the C++ bytecode interpreter and object model through to the .NET application layer, web services, and browser-based user interfaces. You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing software components including XML class definitions, XSLT transforms, SQL stored procedures, C# web services, and JavaScript/jQuery front-end code.
The ideal candidate will have strong C++ development experience, preferably on Windows platforms, alongside solid experience with C# and the .NET Framework (targeting .NET Framework 4.8 and emerging .NET 10). Proficiency in SQL is essential, as the role requires working with database stored procedures and data integration.
This position demands a versatile engineer comfortable working across multiple technologies and layers of the software stack, with a focus on delivering high-quality, maintainable, and scalable solutions.
Skills
- Strong C++ development experience (Windows preferred)
