Overview
We are currently partnering with a leading organisation to appoint an experienced Cyber Security Architect on a contract basis. This role will play a key part in designing and delivering secure technology solutions across a range of programmes and projects.

Role Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business, technical, operational, and third-party stakeholders to gather requirements and design secure solutions

  • Produce high-level and low-level architecture and design artefacts aligned to programme objectives

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance across the full secure development lifecycle, particularly within cloud and DevOps environments

  • Translate business requirements into robust, scalable, and secure technical solutions

  • Contribute to architecture governance, including participation in design authority and review boards

  • Support the development and evolution of security architecture frameworks, standards, and best practices

  • Work closely with engineering and DevOps teams to embed “secure by design” principles across cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines

  • Assess existing environments and recommend improvements to enhance overall security posture

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with organisational and industry security standards

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Proven experience producing architecture and design documentation

  • Deep understanding of cloud security, particularly within Microsoft Azure environments

  • Experience with secure DevOps practices and modern cloud-based architectures

  • Knowledge of security frameworks and standards (e.g. ISO 27001/27002, NCSC guidance, Cyber Essentials, NIS/CAF)

  • Experience in application security, including threat modelling, security reviews, and penetration testing

  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF (or equivalent)

  • Relevant certifications (e.g. Azure Security Engineer/Architect) highly desirable

Desirable

  • Exposure to Operational Technology (OT) environments or critical infrastructure sectors
