Head of Engineering

We are partnering with a leading pensions organisation seeking a Head of Engineering to lead and develop a high-performing cross-functional technology team.

This role will be responsible for driving engineering strategy, overseeing delivery across multiple platforms, and ensuring scalable, secure, and modern technology solutions are in place to support the wider business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading cross-functional engineering teams across development, architecture, and delivery
• Driving engineering best practices, governance, and technical innovation
• Collaborating closely with senior stakeholders across technology and the business
• Overseeing platform modernisation and continuous improvement initiatives
• Supporting the development of engineering capability, culture, and team growth

Requirements:

• Proven leadership experience within engineering or technology functions
• Strong background managing cross-functional technical teams
• Deep experience across the Microsoft technology stack, including .NET, Azure, and related technologies
• Experience delivering enterprise-scale platforms and transformation initiatives
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Previous experience within pensions, financial services, or regulated environments is highly desirable.
