IT Project Manager
IT Project Manager - Systems, Software & Infrastructure Delivery - £650 - £700 per day - Inside IR35 - Hybrid working from Derby - 6 months initial contract.
We are working on behalf of an exciting and growing Small Modular Reactor (SMR) organisation that is building out its technology and digital capabilities as it moves through a significant period of growth.
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to take ownership of a range of technology projects across systems, software and infrastructure. This is a delivery-focused role for someone who is comfortable taking a project from initial scope and requirements through to implementation, working closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be a confident self-starter who can operate with a degree of autonomy, bring structure to complex requirements and build strong relationships across the organisation.
Key responsibilities -
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of IT projects across systems, software, infrastructure and associated technology services.
- Scope projects effectively, defining objectives, deliverables, timelines, dependencies, resources and risks.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate these into deliverable technology solutions.
- Coordinate technical teams, suppliers and third parties to ensure successful project delivery.
- Manage project plans, budgets, RAID logs, governance and reporting.
- Provide clear and concise updates to senior stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, issues and decisions required.
- Identify and manage dependencies across technology, business change and wider transformation programmes.
- Ensure appropriate testing, implementation and transition activities are planned and delivered.
- Support business change activity where required, ensuring technology implementations are Embedded effectively within the organisation.
- Establish appropriate project governance and delivery processes while remaining pragmatic and delivery-focused.
- Proactively identify issues and opportunities, taking ownership rather than waiting to be directed.
About you -
We are looking for an experienced IT Project Manager with a strong background delivering technology projects, ideally across systems, software or infrastructure.
You will be comfortable working across both the technical and business sides of a project, with the ability to understand technical requirements while also considering the impact of change on users and the wider organisation.
You will ideally bring experience of:
- IT systems, software or infrastructure implementations.
- Scoping and defining IT delivery from an initial requirement through to implementation.
- Working with technical teams, business stakeholders and third-party suppliers.
- Business change associated with technology implementations.
- Enterprise applications or business systems, with experience of platforms such as SAP, Workday or similar particularly useful.
- Project governance, planning, RAID management, budgets and senior stakeholder reporting.
- Agile, waterfall or hybrid delivery environments.
