Lead C&I EngineerLocation: Derby, Manchester or Warrington (Hybrid Working)Salary: £63,600 - £83,500 + Bonus + Excellent BenefitsSector: Nuclear | Small Modular Reactors (SMR)Morson are recruiting for a Lead C&I Engineer to join one of the UK's most exciting and innovative engineering programmes.This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the development of next-generation Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technology, helping to deliver the communication and information systems that will support the safe, secure and reliable operation of future nuclear power stations.The programme represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to contribute to the design and deployment of a new generation of low-carbon nuclear power, supporting the UK's energy security and net-zero ambitions while helping to shape the future of clean energy infrastructure.The OpportunityAs a Lead C&I Engineer (ICT), you will provide technical leadership across the full lifecycle of communication and information systems within a nuclear power plant environment.Working as part of the Control & Instrumentation team, you will be responsible for the specification, design, integration and verification of critical ICT infrastructure, ensuring systems are secure, resilient and compliant with regulatory requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and development of ICT, telephony, radio, broadcast and data network systemsDevelop system architectures and translate functional requirements into technical solutionsProduce system specifications, design documentation and verification plansSupport design governance, technical reviews and lifecycle management activitiesProvide technical oversight of suppliers and act as an intelligent customerCollaborate with wider engineering teams to deliver integrated solutionsMentor and support junior engineers within the teamLead technical delivery activities across multidisciplinary engineering programmesWhat We're Looking ForWe are interested in speaking with engineers who have experience designing and delivering communication and information systems within complex engineering environments.You may come from Nuclear, Defence, Aerospace, Utilities, Transportation, Telecommunications or other highly regulated industries.Experience in one or more of the following areas would be highly advantageous:Telephony and Unified CommunicationsRadio Communications (TETRA, DMR, P25, LTE/MCX)Broadcast and Public Address SystemsData Networking (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, SDN, SD-WAN)Network Security ArchitectureRemote Access and Network Management TechnologiesData Centre Networking InfrastructureYou will also have:Experience delivering ICT systems throughout the full engineering lifecycleStrong understanding of resilient system design, redundancy and fault toleranceKnowledge of standards such as IEC 62443Experience managing suppliers and technical stakeholdersStrong communication and leadership skillsDegree qualification in Engineering, Information Technology or a related disciplineSalary & Benefits£63,600 - £83,500 basic salaryPerformance Bonus up to 12.5%£2,200 Flexible Benefits Allowance12% Employer Pension Contribution28 Days Annual Leave plus Bank HolidaysOption to Buy or Sell up to 4 Days HolidayPrivate Medical Insurance (BUPA)Life Assurance (6x Salary)£250 Home Office AllowanceHybrid Working ModelExcellent Career Development OpportunitiesWhy Apply This programme is at the forefront of the UK's nuclear renaissance, delivering innovative Small Modular Reactor technology that will help provide clean, reliable and affordable energy for generations to come.Engineers joining the project will have the opportunity to contribute to a first-of-a-kind nuclear power station design, working on complex technical challenges within a highly collaborative and multidisciplinary environment.It offers the chance to be part of a growing engineering team delivering technology that will play a key role in the future of low-carbon energy generation, energy security and national infrastructure.TPBN1_UKTJ
