Technical Lead

We're looking for an experienced Tech Lead to join a product-focused engineering team, working on scalable, cloud-based applications within the iGaming industry.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role, combining strong Java engineering expertise with technical ownership, stakeholder management and team leadership. You'll act as a key link between engineering, product and wider business stakeholders, helping to shape technical direction and ensure teams deliver high-quality solutions.

What you'll be doing

Providing technical leadership and direction across engineering teams.
Designing, developing and maintaining Java applications, microservices and REST APIs.
Working closely with Product, Engineering and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
Acting as a key point of contact between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
Communicating complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Leading technical discussions, design sessions and architectural decision-making.
Supporting engineers through mentoring, technical guidance and knowledge sharing.
Identifying technical risks, dependencies and opportunities for improvement and communicating these effectively.
Helping teams deliver scalable, maintainable and well-tested software within an agile environment.
Contributing to engineering standards, best practices and continuous improvement.

What we're looking for

Strong commercial experience with Java and Spring Boot.
Previous experience as a Tech Lead, Technical Lead, Senior Engineer or similar.
Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices and distributed systems.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
Strong understanding of software architecture, development practices and testing.
Proven experience leading technical discussions and influencing technical decisions.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience mentoring and supporting other engineers.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to balance technical requirements with wider business needs.
