Morson Edge are partnered with a leading financial services company in their search for a Workday System Owner to take full ownership of their Workday HCM and Finance platform. This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the ongoing optimisation, governance, and enhancement of the Workday environment while partnering closely with senior business stakeholders to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
This opportunity is ideal for a Workday expert who combines strong technical capability with leadership, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the ongoing design, deployment, and maintenance of the Workday HCM and Finance system
- Partner with business and functional leaders to continuously improve service delivery and system capability
- Lead governance processes, strategic roadmapping, and cross-functional resource planning
- Drive Workday feature releases, upgrades, and system maintenance activities
- Evaluate and assess the feasibility of system modifications and enhancements
- Lead the Workday support/product team and manage third-party partners
- Balance operational support with strategic transformation initiatives and projects
- Maintain accountability for data governance, security, risk, and compliance
- Ensure all system processes, functions, and capabilities are accurately documented
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, development, and proactive problem solving within the team
What you will bring
- Proven experience owning or leading a Workday HCM and/or Finance environment gained within a financial services and/or insurance
- Strong understanding of Workday governance, release management, and system optimisation
- Experience managing system enhancements, integrations, and operational support
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and consultative communication skills
- Strong knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practice
- Experience leading teams and managing external vendors or implementation partners
- Ability to balance strategic initiatives with hands-on operational delivery
- A continuous improvement mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- You'll be proactive and collaborative with a strong understanding of enterprise systems governance and stakeholder management.
