Join a cutting-edge British engineering company at the forefront of nuclear innovation, driving the UK's transition to zero carbon energy. As a High Performance Computing Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing advanced HPC solutions that support complex engineering simulations and analysis critical to sustainable nuclear technologies.
You will work closely with engineering teams, leveraging your expertise in HPC environments to enable scalable, efficient computation workflows that power next-generation energy systems. This role offers the opportunity to impact the UK's energy future while working with state-of-the-art technology in a highly innovative environment.
What You'll Do:
- Design and implement HPC environments supporting interactive and batch processing workloads, including MPI-capable systems.
- Deliver HPC solutions that are operating system agnostic, with a strong focus on both Windows and Linux platforms.
- Architect platform-agnostic HPC infrastructures compatible with major cloud providers, specifically MS Azure and AWS.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimise HPC toolsets and applications related to engineering design, with an emphasis on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and other nuclear-relevant simulation tools.
- Provide technical guidance and best practices for HPC deployment, scalability, and performance tuning.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in High Performance Computing design and implementation, including interactive environments, batch processing, and MPI.
- Expertise working across multiple operating systems, specifically Windows and Linux.
- Ability to design HPC solutions deployable on both MS Azure and AWS cloud platforms.
- Experience with engineering design applications and HPC toolsets, ideally within the nuclear sector or similar engineering domains (e.g., CFD tools).
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a passion for innovation and sustainable technology.
Why apply?
- Be part of a pioneering British engineering company committed to zero carbon energy solutions for the UK.
- Work with cutting-edge HPC technologies in a challenging, impactful environment.
- Collaborate with expert teams driving innovation in nuclear energy.
