Business Analyst – 18-Month Maternity Cover
Salary: £42,000 per annum
Location: Hertfordshire – Hybrid (3 days office / 2 days home)
Contract: Approx. 18-month FTC – to include handover and handback
Start: As soon as possible
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday
Mosaic Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Business Analyst to join an established Hertfordshire organisation on an approximately 18-month maternity cover contract.
This is a varied role combining Business Analysis, process improvement, technology, systems support and project work. You will work closely with Project Managers and teams across the organisation to understand business requirements, improve processes and identify practical ways technology can increase efficiency.
This isn't a purely traditional BA role. You will also provide hands-on systems and second-line technical support, so we are looking for someone comfortable with both business analysis and technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and map existing business processes and identify improvements.
- Gather, document and manage business requirements.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings and translate requirements into practical solutions.
- Identify opportunities for process automation and improved ways of working.
- Support solutions using Power Automate, SharePoint and Power BI.
- Plan and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Produce reports and analyse data to support decision-making.
- Provide second-line technical and systems support.
- Support laptops, mobile phones and other end-user devices.
- Liaise with external technology suppliers and manage support requests.
- Support Project Managers with documentation, trackers, actions and project coordination.
About You You will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst or similar.
- Strong requirements gathering and process mapping experience.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience of process improvement and UAT.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A practical interest in technology and systems.
- Experience providing first or second-line technical support.
- Strong organisational and project coordination skills.
- The ability to communicate confidently with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, Visio, workflow automation, data analysis or digital transformation would be particularly useful.
Experience within a regulated or compliance-led environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
