Note: There may be a requirement for a face-to-face interview at the Infosys office in Canary Wharf.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Architect with deep expertise in PostgreSQL and proven experience in DB2-to-Postgres migration projects. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimizing database solutions to support large-scale migration and modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage end-to-end DB2 to PostgreSQL migration projects.
• Design and architect PostgreSQL databases for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Conduct performance tuning, query optimization, and manage replication strategies.
• Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database integration with applications and cloud infrastructure.
• Implement Change Data Capture (CDC) processes for real-time data synchronization between Postgres and DB2.
• Support cloud-based PostgreSQL deployments, preferably on AWS.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 14 years of total experience in database architecture and administration.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with DB2 to PostgreSQL migrations.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL performance tuning and replication.
• Proven experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
• Familiarity with cloud-based PostgreSQL environments (AWS RDS/Aurora).
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with CDC tools such as Precisely or zDIH.
• Ability to implement bi-directional CDC (Postgres DB2).
• BluAge certification or experience in migrations using BluAge Transformation tools.
