Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Snowflake Architect / DBA to design, implement, and manage Snowflake data warehouse environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Snowflake setup, administration, security (RBAC), and performance optimization, ensuring efficient and secure data operations.

Key Responsibilities

Snowflake Architecture & Setup

  • Design and implement scalable Snowflake architecture.
  • Perform Snowflake account setup, configuration, and environment management.
  • Define best practices for data warehouse design and usage.

Database Administration

  • Manage databases, schemas, tables, and storage structures.
  • Perform data modeling and schema optimization.
  • Handle backup, recovery, and cloning strategies.

Security & Access Control

  • Implement and manage RBAC (Role-Based Access Control).
  • Define roles, privileges, and user access policies.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards.

Performance & Cost Optimization

  • Monitor and optimize query performance.
  • Implement resource monitors to control usage and costs.
  • Optimize warehouse sizing, clustering, and workload management.

Monitoring & Troubleshooting

  • Monitor system health, usage, and performance metrics.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to performance, access, and data loads.
  • Ensure high availability and reliability of Snowflake environments.

Collaboration & Support

  • Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and best practices.
  • Support ETL/ELT processes and integration with other systems.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering / Database Administration.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake.
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Snowflake setup & administration
  • RBAC (roles, privileges, access control)
  • Database & schema management
  • Resource monitors & usage optimization
  • Expertise in SQL and query tuning.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP).
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, dbt, etc.).
  • Knowledge of scripting (Python, Shell).
  • Familiarity with data governance and compliance frameworks.
  • Snowflake certification is a plus.

Soft Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in financial services or regulated environments.
