Support Analyst

1st / 3rd Line Support Analyst, Windows, Linux, Networking

This is a broad and varied role so ideal candidates have 1st to 3rd Line experience with some Network Engineering and whilst not essential previous Application Support and Financial / Banking would be beneficial.

A superb opportunity, working in a dynamic Financial environment and will best suit a motivated individual with the right attitude / aptitude and excellent communication skills, able to deal with users at all levels on the phone, via e-mail and face to face.

You will work alongside a range of end users’ acting as the first point of contact troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and completing PC builds and optimisations through to 3rd Line Server / Network Support with the opportunity to work on numerous projects.

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of Windows Desktop 10 / 11
  • Experience with Office 365
  • Windows Server 2016 / 2019 / 2022
  • Strong Active Directory / Group Policy / File Servers
  • Overview of DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP and tracing / troubleshooting Network related issues
  • Some knowledge of VM Ware and Cloud Technologies - AWS / Azure beneficial

Highly Desirable Skills:

  • Strong Network Engineering - installing, configuring and administering Routers / Switches - Cisco
  • Firewall Administration - Cisco ASA
  • Scripting - PowerShell or Python
  • Core knowledge of Linux Systems Administration - Red Hat
  • SQL query writing / Procedural SQL (SQL Server)
  • C# / VB.net or other high level programming language
  • IIS
  • Google Workspace

Other Non-Essential But Desirable Skills:

  • Previous experience supporting Futures & Options Trading, Risk and Settlement Systems.
  • Linux / Unix System Administration - RedHat, Ubuntu, Solaris.
  • Knowledge of any of the ISV’s products - Trading Technologies, Stellar, ULLink, WebICE, Object Trading, Fidessa, ION / Patsystems, Trayport.
  • Exchange Connectivity - ICE / LIFFE, Eurex, CME / CBOT, Euronext, Xetra, Chi-X, LME, LSE, NYSE.
  • FIX Connectivity - Client On-boarding, Support / Troubleshooting of FIX Logs / Connections.
  • Other Market Data - Reuters, Bloomberg, CQG, Ateo (Teo and Lisa).
  • Experience in Exchange and Vendor Management with a view to project managing exchange/system critical upgrades

Whilst experience gained in Financial Markets or Financial Services - ideally banking - would be beneficial the core underlying Technical Skills are more important with any MCP, MCDST, MCITP, MCSA, MCSE accreditation all beneficial.

There’s a broad salary range with "less experienced" candidates with the right attitude and aptitude considered at the lower end of the range and candidates with some 3rd Line and Networking experience at the higher end.
