Position Summary
This role is a part of an integrated worldwide in-house legal team of NCR Voyix. You will be responsible for providing legal support in Europe, especially Northern Europe on a broad variety of legal matters and supporting a wide range of business units, functions and issues, including legal support for commercial SAAS software contracts, employment issues, procurement, disputes/litigation, regulatory matters, corporate governance, and strategic transactions. The regions that you cover, and the business units and areas of support may be revised from time to time depending on the business needs of the company.
You will possess strong knowledge of commercial law in Europe especially in Northern Europe countries, including areas such as SAAS software subscriptions, cloud services, professional services, intellectual property, privacy and data security.
Key Areas of Responsibilities:
- Act as legal advisor to a broad range of management, sales and business clients.
- Review, draft and negotiate large and complex SAAS subscription, services, licensing, and related agreements with major customers.
- Review and negotiate vendor agreements.
- Provide rapid, proactive, practical and business-oriented legal advice.
- Co-ordinate and advise on disputes and litigation matters (employment and commercial).
- Provide legal support for day-to-day corporate secretarial matters for legal entities in the region.
- Work closely with the human resource department on various employment law related issues, policies, processes and projects.
- Advise on regulatory and compliance issues, including implementation of new and evolving EU legislation and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Participate in the global law department activities including development of best practices, special projects and developing and maintaining templates that comply with company policies and local laws.
- Analyse and interpret law, rulings and regulations that affect company and recommend changes accordingly.
- Liaise with and manage outside legal counsel.
Requirements
- Fully qualified lawyer in UK.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience, with part of the time serving as in-house counsel.
- Experience in regulatory and compliance issues and implementing EU legislation and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience in supporting multiple jurisdictions.
- Results-oriented thinker and a team player.
- Proactive, flexible, hands-on approach and willingness to work on a broad variety of matters in a busy environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, including a clear and concise drafting style.
- Occasional business travel is required.
- Prior experience at a technology company is preferred but not required.
