Senior Smart Buildings Engineer

The Role

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Digital Building Engineer (Controls & BMS) to join our team at NDY. This pivotal position will allow you to play a significant role in enhancing the built environment across various sectors, including Commercial, Residential, Hotel, Retail, Industrial, Laboratories, and Data Centres. You will be a vital part of the Digital Building team, gathering requirements from stakeholders, developing design and engineering solutions, and collaborating with a dynamic group of professionals to innovate the building landscape.

Key Challenges:

  • Gather requirements from stakeholders and understand client problems and opportunities to determine desired outcomes.
  • Develop design and engineering requirements for smart building installations of varying complexity.
  • Coordinate smart building and controls design with other building services disciplines and external parties.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations, conveying complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.
  • Ensure adherence to NDY's Quality System on projects and take part in personal and professional development training.
  • Act as a trusted advisor in all aspects of BMS and Smart Building design and solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver blue sky aspirational workshops with clients and key stakeholders.
  • Ability to support marketing and business development activities.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, combined with equivalent training, accreditation, and at least three years of industry experience in BMS, controls, or Smart Buildings.
  • Demonstrable experience in engineering building controls or integration, writing specifications, and drafting technical reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and technical teams, ensuring concepts are understood across varying levels of expertise.
  • Proficiency with BMS systems knowledge and familiarity with Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
