PfMO & Project Support
Role OverviewThe role will contribute to ongoing development of a mature Portfolio Management Office (PfMO) function within the Central Change Team and support the introduction of portfolio management to drive corporate reporting and decision making. They will track that project and programme information is updated in a timely manner so that the PfMO can conduct the analysis required for Senior Management reporting, ensure that Central Change standards are maintained, processes followed and provide general PfMO support, e.g. arranging meetings and workshops and ensuring that the materials required are available.There will, initially, be training to understand the workings of the PfMO, the tools used and the Central Change framework and to gain an understanding of basic project management activities and the project lifecycle.Day to day activities, following training, will include:
- Working with assigned Project Managers to create and maintain project artefacts and organise information
- Maintaining team sites, libraries, online information and managing access
- Monitoring project progress, tracking deliverables and escalating concerns
- Updating project financials and raising Purchase Orders
- Helping to maintain and update the PPM tool
- Providing support for meetings, workshops and audit reviews
- Collating and presenting information to the PfMO and Project Managers for approval
- Working towards managing small workstreams within a project
- Experience of working in a change/project environment.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy of information produced.
- Working knowledge of the MS product suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to organise data to produce reports and statistics in appropriate formats to help stakeholders understand key aspects of the project.
- Inquisitive - willing to raise questions with an understanding of the bigger picture in terms of Nest strategic goals.
