Head of Shared Service Transformation

NET Recruit is proud to be partnering with a large and established organisation undergoing a significant transformation across its Finance, HR, Procurement and Commercial functions. As part of this transformation, the business is modernising its ERP landscape and developing the capabilities of its Shared Services function. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Shared Service Transformation leader to play a pivotal role in translating a high-level business case into sustainable, measurable change across a complex, multi-functional environment.

Your Roles & Responsibilities :
While in this position your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Translating the established transformation business case into a detailed improvement programme, target operating model and practical implementation roadmap.
  • Leading the standardisation, simplification and automation of core Shared Services processes including Purchase-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Record-to-Report and FP&A services.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve process efficiency, establish appropriate KPIs and deliver measurable operational improvements.
  • Driving the transition of activities into Shared Services and Centres of Excellence where appropriate.
  • Establishing effective service management frameworks, SLAs and governance structures.
  • Supporting the optimisation of ERP capabilities, automation, RPA, analytics and emerging AI solutions to improve Finance processes and service delivery.
  • Working closely with the wider transformation programme leadership to ensure business transformation requirements are successfully delivered alongside technology implementation.
  • Leading detailed process design and implementation, ensuring new processes are scalable, efficient, controlled and focused on user experience.
  • Identifying requirements and improvement opportunities for future ERP releases.
  • Overseeing the implementation of automation, digitisation and system-enabled change in line with the agreed solution architecture.
  • Driving early improvements and quick wins through the adoption of new ERP capabilities and standardised processes.
  • Leading change management, communication and capability development to support the successful adoption of new processes and ways of working.
  • Working with functional leaders to manage workforce transition, role changes and upskilling requirements.
  • Embedding a culture of continuous improvement and operational ownership across Shared Services.
  • Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and maintaining confidence in transformation progress, delivery and outcomes.
  • Managing relationships with delivery partners, systems integrators and specialist advisers to ensure transformation objectives are achieved.
  • Providing visible and credible leadership throughout the organisation during periods of significant change.
  • Owning detailed benefits tracking and realisation, linking transformation activity directly to financial, operational and service outcomes.
  • Ensuring the programme delivers measurable improvements in cost, service quality, consistency and customer experience.
  • Tracking delivery against agreed milestones and taking appropriate action to maintain momentum and address risks or challenges.

What You Will Need to Apply:

  • Proven experience leading the execution and delivery of large-scale Shared Services, Global Business Services or enterprise transformation programmes.
  • A strong track record of translating high-level operating models and transformation strategies into detailed, implementable designs.
  • Deep operational understanding of Shared Services environments and what good practice looks like within a high-performing function.
  • Strong ERP experience, ideally including S/4HANA, with the ability to use technology, automation, analytics and best practice to drive process excellence.
  • Hands-on experience delivering technology-enabled business transformation and embedding new systems, processes and operating models.
  • Experience across core Finance processes such as P2P, O2C, R2R and FP&A Services.
  • Experience working within a Global Business Services, outsourced or near-shore operating model.
  • Strong commercial and financial discipline, including proven experience managing and realising transformation benefits.
  • Experience establishing governance, service management frameworks, SLAs and performance measures.
  • Strong understanding of process standardisation, simplification, automation and continuous improvement.
  • Formal qualifications or recognised training in programme management, change management, Lean process improvement or a related discipline.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the credibility and confidence to operate effectively at executive level.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to challenge constructively and maintain momentum through complex transformation.
  • A pragmatic, resilient and highly execution-focused approach, with the ability to move quickly from strategy and concept through to implementation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across multiple functions and levels of seniority.
