IT Service Delivery Manager

Your Company:
A well-established logistics business operating within a fast-paced and evolving environment has partnered with the team at NET Recruit to recruit an experienced IT Service Delivery Manager to join its internal technology function.
The organisation is currently entering a significant period of change, with a clear focus on developing and modernising its existing technology landscape, improving legacy systems, and creating more structured and effective ways of working across IT.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT professional to take ownership of service delivery and operational performance while playing an important role in the organisation's wider technology transformation. Working closely with internal stakeholders, technical teams, and external suppliers, you will help ensure that day-to-day IT services remain effective while supporting the business as it develops and improves its systems and processes.

Your Role and Responsibilities
While in this position your duties may include but may not be limited to:

  • Taking ownership of IT service delivery across the organisation, ensuring systems, support services, and technical operations are managed effectively and consistently.
  • Developing and improving service delivery processes, introducing greater structure, visibility, and accountability across the IT function.
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements, prioritise technology demands, and ensure IT services remain aligned with operational needs.
  • Supporting the development, improvement, and modernisation of legacy systems as part of the organisation's wider period of technological change.
  • Coordinating projects, technical improvements, and operational activities to ensure priorities are clearly defined, progress is monitored, and potential blockers are addressed promptly.
  • Overseeing day-to-day IT support activity, ensuring incidents and service requests are appropriately prioritised and progressed within agreed service expectations.
  • Acting as a key escalation point for IT service issues, taking ownership of problems and driving them through to resolution.
  • Managing relationships with third-party IT suppliers and service providers, monitoring performance and ensuring agreed standards and commitments are maintained.
  • Working with technical teams to identify recurring issues and opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and the overall user experience.
  • Supporting the introduction of improved processes, systems, and ways of working to reduce reliance on reactive support and strengthen the overall IT service.
  • Providing clear visibility to senior stakeholders around service performance, ongoing initiatives, risks, priorities, and areas requiring further investment or improvement.
  • Contributing to the wider technology roadmap and helping the business transition from legacy ways of working towards a more structured and sustainable IT environment.

What you will need to Apply:
The ideal candidate will be an experienced IT professional with a strong background in IT service delivery, service management, IT operations, or a similar environment. You will have a proven ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate technical activity, and ensure IT services consistently meet the needs of the wider business.
You will be highly organised and comfortable taking ownership of issues from initial identification through to resolution. Strong communication skills will be essential, as you will work closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating business requirements into practical IT solutions and ensuring expectations are effectively managed.
Applicants should have previous experience overseeing IT support or service operations, working with internal technical teams, and managing relationships with external suppliers or technology partners. A broad understanding of infrastructure, applications, systems, and IT service environments will be beneficial.
Given the organisation's current period of change, experience of legacy system development, technology transformation, system improvement, or business change projects would be particularly advantageous. Experience working with structured service management or delivery methodologies, including ITIL, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or similar approaches, would also be beneficial.
Above all, you will be someone who enjoys improving the way an IT function operates. You will be proactive, commercially aware, and comfortable working in an environment where there is an opportunity to introduce greater structure, improve existing systems, and help shape the future direction of technology across the business.

What you will get in Return:
In return, the company offers a salary of up to £60,000, alongside the opportunity to take on a highly visible role within an organisation undergoing an exciting period of technological development.
This is a position where you will have genuine scope to influence how IT services are delivered, helping to improve existing systems, develop legacy technology, introduce stronger processes, and support the business through its wider transformation.
You will join a collaborative environment where your experience and ideas will be valued, with the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders, technical teams, and external technology partners.
Alongside a competitive salary, the organisation offers a range of additional benefits designed to support employee wellbeing, professional development, and long-term career growth.
If you are an experienced IT service delivery professional looking for a role where you can make a tangible impact and help shape the development of an evolving technology function, this could be an excellent opportunity to consider.
