Your Company: NET Recruit is supporting a well-established and innovative organisation within the fintech and financial services sector in its search for a Laravel Developer. The business is recognised for delivering market-leading panel management and technology solutions to financial institutions across the UK, providing secure and efficient platforms that support both operational processes and customer-facing services. With a growing portfolio of systems and products, the business is now seeking a skilled Laravel Developer to join its in-house development team. This position offers predominantly remote working, with occasional travel required to the Gateshead head office for meetings and collaborative development sessions, providing a strong balance between flexibility and team integration.Your Role and Responsibilities While in this position your duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Supporting the day-to-day operation of the business by maintaining and developing a suite of internal and client-facing web portals built on the Laravel framework.
  • Collaborating with members of the development team to support operational requirements and deliver enhancements to existing applications.
  • Participating in the development of new products and system features for both internal users and external customers.
  • Producing well-structured, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code to ensure reliability and maintainability.
  • Ensuring that all development work adheres to data security standards and best practices to protect sensitive information.
  • Minimising risks to data integrity by implementing appropriate validation, testing, and security controls.
  • Applying recognised industry standards and development methodologies where appropriate.
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues to translate technical issues or requirements into clear and understandable solutions.
  • Taking ownership of development tasks and projects, ensuring progress is clearly communicated and project milestones are achieved.
What You Will Need to Apply: The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of three years’ industry experience in software development, with a strong focus on PHP-based applications and the Laravel framework. You will demonstrate solid technical capability across modern web development technologies, including PHP8, Laravel, MySQL, CSS/JavaScript build tools, and Git. Experience working within small, collaborative development teams will be highly advantageous, particularly in environments that combine operational support with ongoing product development. You will possess strong problem-solving abilities, allowing you to work both independently and collaboratively to identify and resolve technical challenges. Excellent communication skills will also be essential, enabling you to interpret technical requirements and explain complex issues clearly to both technical and non-technical colleagues. Additional experience with Laravel Sail, Docker, MacOS development environments, or CI pipelines and automated testing frameworks would be considered beneficial but is not essential. You will also demonstrate a structured and detail-oriented approach to your work, ensuring all development outputs are secure, reliable, and aligned with business requirements.What You Will Get in Return: The company offers a competitive salary of up to £45,000, dependent on experience, alongside 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays and a supportive working environment that encourages professional development.
