Security Engineer

With a complex enterprise environment spanning both corporate IT and operational technology (OT), the business is committed to maintaining secure, resilient and future-ready systems that support business continuity and operational excellence.Your Roles and Responsibilities: While in this position your duties may include but will not be limited to:
  • Acting as the primary technical authority for cyber security across corporate IT and operational technology environments
  • Leading the investigation, triage and resolution of security incidents, working alongside managed security service providers to ensure timely remediation
  • Monitoring and managing enterprise security platforms, including EDR, SIEM, NDR, email security, firewalls and network access control solutions
  • Owning and managing the organisation-wide patching schedule across servers, endpoints and business-critical applications
  • Conducting vulnerability assessments and ensuring identified risks are effectively prioritised and remediated
  • Managing network security infrastructure, including next-generation firewalls, SASE technologies and zero-trust network principles
  • Supporting the security and resilience of manufacturing and operational technology environments, ensuring appropriate segmentation between IT and OT networks
  • Administering Active Directory, Group Policy and identity management controls while supporting the ongoing development of hybrid cloud environments
  • Designing, delivering and continuously improving the organisation's cyber security awareness programme, including phishing simulations and user education initiatives
  • Developing and maintaining security policies, procedures and documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practice
  • Supporting backup, disaster recovery and business continuity planning while coordinating planned maintenance and change activities
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders, external suppliers and third-party partners to continuously strengthen the organisation's overall security posture
What You Will Need to Apply: The ideal candidate for this role will have significant experience working within infrastructure, cyber security or network security engineering positions, ideally gained within a large enterprise or manufacturing environment. Applicants should possess extensive technical knowledge across a broad range of security technologies, including enterprise firewalls, endpoint detection and response (EDR), security information and event management (SIEM), network detection and response (NDR), Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), network access control (NAC) and enterprise email security platforms. Candidates should have proven experience managing organisation-wide patching strategies, vulnerability management programmes and incident response processes, alongside strong knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server environments, virtualisation platforms and enterprise networking technologies. Experience securing operational technology (OT) environments or manufacturing infrastructure would be highly advantageous, as would exposure to cloud security technologies across Azure or AWS. Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CISSP, CISM or similar would also be beneficial. The successful individual will be analytical, proactive and highly organised, with exceptional problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
