This is a role for someone who enjoys technical depth, problem-solving and taking ownership of quality within complex software environments.Your Roles & Responsibilities: While in this position your duties will include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead complex testing activity across integrated software and hardware systems.
  • Take a hands-on approach to developing, enhancing, and maintaining automation frameworks.
  • Influence testing strategy, standards, and best practices across the testing function.
  • Act as a key technical point of contact for internal engineering teams and external stakeholders.
  • Support customer-facing project delivery and represent the organisation during formal testing and acceptance activities.
  • Mentor and develop junior members of the testing team to strengthen capability and consistency.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance automation coverage and refine testing approaches.
  • Lead and contribute to functional, regression, integration, performance, and non-functional testing across complex software and integrated systems.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain automation frameworks as a key focus of the role.
  • Participate in customer-facing testing engagements, including formal acceptance testing, acting as a trusted technical representative throughout project delivery.
  • Work closely with engineering and development teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members, helping to embed strong testing discipline across the organisation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by improving efficiencies and promoting best practices across the testing function.
What You Will Need to Apply: You will be an experienced software testing professional with a strong background in complex technical environments and a solid understanding of modern testing methodologies. You will be confident working across both Windows-based and web-based applications, with exposure to integrated systems and third-party integrations. A strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle is essential, along with experience across functional, regression, system, performance and security testing. You will also have experience using test management and tracking tools, alongside version control systems, and will be comfortable working in structured engineering environments where quality and accountability are key. Most importantly, you will be proactive, detail-focused and naturally inclined to improve processes, solve problems and take ownership of outcomes. Experience & Skills The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years’ experience in software testing within complex or regulated environments, along with strong exposure to automation tools and frameworks. A good understanding of TDD and BDD practices is highly desirable, alongside experience in both manual and automated testing approaches. You will ideally be degree educated (or equivalent) in a computing or related discipline and hold, or be working towards, ISTQB Foundation Level certification.
