Service Engineer - Northern Region

Known for delivering both off-the-shelf and bespoke systems across a wide range of industries, the business supports clients from small enterprises to large global organisations, as well as major events, festivals, and venues. Due to continued expansion, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Service Engineer to join the team, supporting clients across the Northern region, based out of Oldham.Your Roles and Responsibilities While in this role your duties may include but are not limited to:
- Supporting the delivery, installation and maintenance of radio communication systems, body worn cameras, and associated security technologies
- Assisting the sales team with technical input, product demonstrations, and customer enquiries
- Conducting site surveys and preventative maintenance inspections (PMI), producing detailed reports and documentation
- Carrying out system design, build, factory testing, installation and commissioning
- Providing first-line technical support to customers via phone and remote systems
- Performing routine servicing, maintenance and bench repairs on customer and company equipment
- Configuring equipment across a range of communication and security technologies
- Delivering on-site technical support at events, including festivals, sporting events and entertainment venues
- Participating in a call-out rota to provide 24/7 support for contract customers
- Collaborating with internal teams to ensure efficient project delivery and customer satisfaction
- Supporting other regional teams when required, including occasional travel to the Southern office
- Proven experience in a technical engineering or service role, ideally within communications, security systems, or related industries
- Strong understanding or hands-on experience with RF devices and communication systems
- Good working knowledge of IT networks and system configuration (desirable)
- Ability to carry out installations, maintenance and fault-finding independently
- Strong communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- A proactive mindset with the ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and travel when required
- A valid UK driving licence
- Security clearance is advantageous but not essential
- Familiarity with manufacturers such as Motorola, Hytera, Icom, Kirisun, or Caltta would be beneficial
