Are you ready to take the lead in transforming financial planning through data-driven insights and expert analysis? At NFU Mutual, we’re looking for a visionary Data Analytics & Insights Manager FP&A to shape the future of our Financial Planning & Analysis function (FP&A).
As the Data Analytics & Insights Manager, you’ll be responsible for driving the development and execution of advanced data analytics and insights initiatives. Reporting to the Head of FP&A - Systems & Controls, you’ll promote a data-driven culture and provide strategic insights to inform key decision-making at the executive level.
You’ll define and lead FP&A’s MI strategy, embed advanced analytics and data science into performance reporting, and act as a strategic partner engaging with your FP&A colleagues, and senior stakeholders. This is a high-impact role where you’ll influence cross-functional collaboration across Finance, IT, Change, and Data Centres of Excellence, ensuring our solutions are scalable, sustainable, and aligned with our long-term goals.
You’ll also take on a leadership role, guiding a high-performing team by setting clear objectives, providing strong direction, and maintaining a commitment to excellence.

Key duties include:
- Deliver clear, impactful financial insights to support strategic decisions across FP&A and the business.
- Improve reporting and forecasting by embedding data science and aligning with enterprise data standards.
- Collaborate across teams to understand, identify, and align best practice on tools like Workday and Shared Data Platform and drive the implementation to deliver these practices.
- Use data and analysis to influence senior leaders and solve high-impact business challenges.
- Oversee FP&A risk frameworks to ensure strong governance and compliance.
- Champion data-driven decisions and show the value of financial insight across the business.
- Keep up with trends in AI, analytics, and tech to boost FP&A’s capabilities.

Technical skills required:
- Extensive experience in data management, MI analysis, and insights, with application of statistical methods to support strategic decision making, this doesn’t have to be from a Finance background.
- Experience working with machine learning techniques (e.g., clustering, decision trees, neural networks).
- Experience using programming and tools (e.g., SQL and Azure).
- Proficient skills in using data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Proficient skills in using data science tools (e.g., R Studio, Python).
- Understanding of cloud architectures and modern data analytics frameworks.
- Experience using systems to support analysis and insights.
- Experience using Finance systems and working with financial data is desirable (e.g. Workday, Adaptive)
- Experience with agile methodologies for implementing change is desirable.
