In this role you will work directly with customers and suppliers to support the effective delivery of clinical IT systems software and hardware ensuring that each development is just right for the job. Great job satisfaction!

This role provides experience in the world of systems development and implementation, including the opportunity to be part of the design and implementation of novel applications of technology that support nursing, medical, and scientific purposes.

This is a great development opportunity to build knowledge of what it takes to integrate and build/or make change where infrastructure already exists. This is a different, may be an even greater challenge to that of starting from scratch. In this role you would take part in that challenge.

Main duties of the job

  • Ensuring the safe and effective delivery of clinical IT systems software and hardware through testing and participation in software development, as required to support implementation of new functionality across clinical IT Systems, within multi-functional areas.
  • Providing development and deployment expertise on low-code platforms, ensuring the delivery of world-class information systems and application software.
  • Providing specialist knowledge of clinical IT Systems and active support for the development of clinical IT systems software.
  • Providing communication and understanding of clinical IT systems software to key users. Producing high quality documentation for all NHSBT applications and any other applications developed in-house, and ensure they are kept up to date.
  • Liaising with a network of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in order to deliver training and assist with end to end business testing to confirm that new functionality can be implemented effectively.

Qualifications

Essential
  • MSc in a scientific or digital, data and technology specialty OR equivalent relevant experience to Masters level
  • Degree in a scientific or digital, data and technology specialty OR equivalent relevant experience
  • Demonstrates commitment to own continued professional development (CPD)

Experience

Essential
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to all levels of staff and members of the public, including interpreting complex technical information.
  • Able to use initiative to solve problem and manage own time and resources.
  • Able to plan and prioritise the workload of others to meet competing demands. Demonstrates ability to work effectively within an environment of changing pressures and practices
  • Ability to plan ahead and work in an organised manner while remote from base for several days.
  • Must be able self-reliant, with a flexible approach to work, including ability to manage their own workload.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict guidelines.
  • Attention to detail.
