Main duties of the job

The Head of Organ Donation Partnerships leads the development and delivery of strategic partnerships that drive registrations to the NHS Organ Donor Register (ODR), with a particular focus on large-scale digital and public service integrations. The role is responsible for securing, implementing and optimising partnerships that increase registrations, improve consent rates and support patient needs.

As a senior member of the Partnerships management team, the post holder will lead the Organ Donation Partnerships strategy, ensuring alignment with NHSBT's Marketing, Communications and Engagement Strategy. They will be accountable for delivering registration targets through key partnership channels, including the NHS App, DVLA, government digital services and emerging cross-government platforms.

Working closely with the Organ Donor Register Team and key stakeholders, the post holder will maximise the performance of digital partnership opportunities, ensuring partners deliver against agreed objectives and contribute to increased registration rates and improved patient outcomes.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Significant demonstratable experience securing and delivering high level partnerships within a management role (equivalent to a masters level qualification such as public sector management or marketing in a related specialism). Masters qualification or equivalent experience.
Demonstrate commitment to own and direct reports Continued Professional Development (CPD).
Willingness to work irregular hours and to travel to meetings, including overnight stays when required (with appropriate prior notice). Frequent national travel required.

Experience

Essential

Significant experience of partnership development, stakeholder management or project/programme management within a public, NHS, commercial or digital environment
Demonstrable experience of designing and delivering partnership activity or programmes that contribute to organisational objectives, including measurable outcomes and performance improvement.
Experience of working within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment, managing relationships across organisational and sector boundaries
Demonstrable experience of working with senior stakeholders, influencing decisions and securing agreement to deliver strategic objectives
Experience of delivering programmes involving digital integration, service delivery, or platform-based engagement (e.g. working with digital services, systems or high-volume customer journeys).
Experience of analysing performance data and producing reports to inform senior stakeholders and support decision-making
Experience of managing budgets within a defined area and ensuring effective use of resources
Demonstrable experience of implementing service improvements, innovation or change programmes
Experience of working collaboratively across functions to deliver shared objectives
Experience of managing or supporting the development of staff or teams.
Demonstrates a working knowledge of computer packages e.g. word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint etc
