Main duties of the job

As a Project Manager you will manage the Data Intelligence Transformation project, ensuring timely completion and alignment with business strategies, budgets, and operational needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the project under the Programme and Portfolio Manager's guidance, maintaining high professional standards and compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Deputising for the Programme and Portfolio Manager as needed, supporting project and programme assurance across the organisation.
  • Contributing to Transformation portfolio planning, reporting, and the development of NHS Blood & Transplant Portfolio, Programme, and Project Management tools and methods.
  • Maintaining project documentation, such as board update packs, project plans, runbooks, and RAIDD logs.

You may be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential
  • Evidence of training in project management methods (e.g. PRINCE II practitioner, agile, waterfall)
  • Masters degree in relevant subject or demonstrable knowledge and experience to Masters level
  • Demonstrates commitment to own continued professional development (CPD)

Experience

Essential
  • Significant project management experience, including managing risk and change, production of robust business cases, managing and monitoring budgets
  • Experience of using project management tools and software to support scoping, planning, implementing, and monitoring progress. Experience of managing resources, including those not under direct line management control
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, in particular Microsoft Project,Powerpoint, Word, Excel and Visio
  • Knowledge of how to effectively close projects and implement lessons learnt throughout the project lifecycle
