A key backbone of our organisation is our Digital, Data and Technology Services (DDTS) directorate and we are looking for a Technology Services Engineer to join us, that will be responsible to lead the strategic design, development and expansion of a secure, highly reliable and critical enterprise network infrastructure network solutions.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for:
- To own and actively manage Networking Technology Services from both technical and service perspectives ensuring that they are fit for purpose and effective IT Service Management processes and activities are in place and being followed.
- To ensure that other - DDTS support teams are set up to effectively support and maintain the Technology IT Services.
- Effective stakeholder management and communication to ensure DDTS and user communities at all levels are engaged on topics related to the IT Services they use.
- Contribute towards Service Design activities to ensure they are fit for purpose and take ownership of Service Transition activities to ensure smooth take-on into BAU.
- Provide 3rd/4th line support as required for Network Technology Services.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Masters level qualification or equivalent level of experience in specialist knowledge and expertise relevant to the role in Digital/ICT
- Cisco Certified Network Associate and/or Cisco Certified Network Professional or equivalent experience
- ITIL Foundation qualification.
- Demonstrate commitment to own Continued Professional Development (CPD).
- Post graduate level qualification in a relevant area of ICT.
Experience
- Extensive recent experience working in at senior level in networking roles covering LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi and network security
- Extensive experience in designing, developing and managing complex networks and bespoke IT solutions within large organisations
- Engaging on complex projects across multiple disciplines and with multiple stakeholders of varying backgrounds and IT knowledge.
- Interpret complex IT requirements to facilitate solutions that adhere with organisational and national standards.
- Proven experience of managing full-service management lifecycles.
- Knowledge of IT best practice as stipulated by the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
- Knowledge of project and programme management methods, including PRINCE 2, Agile methodologies.
- Experience of presenting complex and contentious information to a large technical and/or non-technical audience.
- Experience of directly or indirectly leading and influencing teams of diverse individuals.
- Experience of managing a budget.
- Knowledge and experience of Service Design & Transition aspects of the IT Service Management lifecycle.
