We're looking for a Senior Technical Analyst to join our Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) team at the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA). Main duties of the job
As a Senior Technical Analyst, you'll play a key role in delivering digital transformation across the NHSBSA. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to analyse, design, and support the delivery of innovative digital solutions.
- Leading technical systems analysis and feasibility studies for new projects.
- Translating complex technical designs into clear, user-friendly processes.
- Supporting agile delivery teams with functional design authority and requirements analysis.
- Monitoring emerging technologies and advising on their potential value.
- Conducting impact assessments and identifying risks and mitigations.

Job responsibilities
In this role, you are accountable for
1. Fully engage and contribute to delivery of projects, change and continuous improvements within multidisciplinary scrum teams.2. Support the department by analysing propositions and assessing a range of factors including horizon scanning for emerging technologies, approaches, trends and strategies that would benefit the organisation, and inform how the strategic direction is set.3. Monitoring and develop a firm understanding of new and emerging tools, technologies and products to assess potential value and identifying opportunities to enhance capabilities, products and services within the organisation, including how they are implemented. 4. Translating designs both logical and physical to support user friendly processes and systems, and communication of this across business areas. 5. Conducting impact assessment of "as-is" and "to-be" processes for systems, tools and technologies, identifying relevant risks and issues, and providing mitigating actions.6. Undertake investigative technical systems analysis, facilitate scoping and priority setting of large or complex changes, providing options appraisals and recommendations, to feed into business cases, selecting the most appropriate means to communicate information.7. Delivering value for money by cultivating and encouraging an awareness of cost, using clear simple examples of benefits and how to measure outcomes8. Identify and understand relevant legal and commercial terms, concepts, policies and processes (including project approvals and assurance procedures) to deliver agreed outcomes9. Enabling the performance of others, by mentoring staff to encourage pro-active development of skills and capabilities. 10. Contribute to recruitment and selection in line with organisational processes and participate in the implementation and delivery of initiatives to secure suitable resources, increase skills levels and develop talent pools to meet the changing needs of the business landscape.11. Provide feedback to support and encourage individuals to develop thinking and independently work through issues, to reach solutions-based outcomes. 12. Keeping abreast of technological and maintain an excellent understanding of the use of technology in delivering business objectives. 13. Maintain own knowledge and expertise at the forefront of sector knowledge. Investigate research and development to support future business needs. Develop an understanding of emerging technologies and business opportunities.14. Contribute to and prepare proposals for change including producing necessary estimates, mandates and business cases within the DDaT directorate. 15. Monitoring budget spend and resource estimates against projects, and change initiatives.16. Identify opportunities, engaging and fostering relationships and partnership working within the organisation, and with third parties, to identify and deliver value to the organisation.17. Develop collaborative working relationships across a range of parties including product managers, architects and the wider delivery team to ensure products deliver value and the approach and feature backlog meet the specified user need.18. Develop a deep understanding of how the services, activities and strategies in the area work together to create value for the customer/end user. 19. Monitoring, reviewing accuracy of activities including estimates and actuals to provide more accurate information. 20. Managing own workload and completing assigned tasks, to a high quality and within agreed timelines. 21. Delivering continuous improvements to enhance own areas; co-ordinating and delivery of work across multiple strands such as continuous improvement, project related work, and escalating issues at appropriate times.22. Preparing plans to feed into the delivery and management of projects and programmes. 23. Execute approaches strategies, standards, practices and policies, ensuring and monitoring the timely delivery of business objectives within budget through the management of projects and programmes.24. Providing feedback on functional and non-functional requirements to ensure the overall needs of the business are met from an ICT perspective25. Participating in procurement processes for hardware and software. - Degree calibre with relevant in-depth knowledge of the subject matter

- Post Graduate qualification or equivalent in relevant discipline
