Job summary

Join a fast-paced Corporate Communications Team as a Digital Designer and play a pivotal role in bringing our organisation's story to life through compelling visual communications. You'll design engaging digital assets ranging from corporate documents, presentations, e-learning materials through to multimedia content that reaches both internal teams and external audiences. Workingcollaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation, you'll ensure all designs meet government accessibility standards and NHS brand guidelines whilst contributing to our broader communications strategy.
This role is a fixed term contract initially for 6 months with an option to extend for a further 6 months.

Main duties of the job
This is an excellent opportunity for a creative professional to make a meaningful impact across multiple platforms and projects, developing inclusive content that serves diverse user needs and strengthens our organisational identity.
Receive content from subject matter experts and use this to develop story boards and concepts and publish e learning packages to support a range of learning and development requirements.
Develop graphic based information to increase knowledge & learning to underpin the delivery of strategic objectives, and to support and enable the wider counter fraud community.
Conceptualise and produce specifications and graphic designs for use in marketing and awareness products including interactive designs, illustrations and imagery to enhance communications.
Review internal and external feedback across all designed products.

Job responsibilities
Provide mentoring and instruction to staff in use of digital products, services and techniques and the provision of appropriate training materials where required. Advises on standards for tools, techniques and environments, advises on their application, and ensures compliance of these tools within methods and processes in Business Process /IT systems design projects, whilst ensuring own actions promote quality and alert others to quality issues.
Produce guidelines to support the whole workforce in the use of images, accessibility compliance, brand identity etc.
Develop and maintain project plans for key workstreams.
Plan resource requirements and interdependencies on other areas of the organisation to manage deadlines.

Person Specification
Knowledge and Experience
- Demonstrable experience of leading and managing projects.
- Experienced at working to deadlines to produce a range of graphic designs to support all levels of the organisation including support CEO and Board member engagements.
- Demonstrable creativity and innovation in applying IT, digital and business solutions for the benefit of the end user and the organisation.
- Line Management experience
Specialist Knowledge
- Proven graphic design experience for producing images, infographics, logos, publication styles animations etc. Knowledge of brand awareness.
- Experience of reviewing customer feedback and adapting designs to improve the user experience.
- Demonstrable experience in creation of graphics for use in e learning packages.
- Ability to review and edit technical content, to meet the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations and best practise within the industry including Cabinet Office standards (for print/annual report etc), Public Sector standards and the Accessibility requirements.
- Ability to use initiative to provide solutions on complex technical problems.
- Experience in a curriculum development / instructional design role or similar.
- Video production skills.
Qualifications
- IT or Design related degree or equivalent or equivalent experience in design/creative role creating digital assets with demonstrable portfolio.
- Instructional design and/or a training or teaching and learning qualification
- A recognised project management qualification
- Management qualification
Communication Skills
- Demonstrable communication skills in order to interpret and negotiate briefs with colleagues
- Demonstrate presentation skills and the confidence to explain and sell ideas to stakeholders.
- Understanding and Proficiency in MS Office Program suite and others as required
