Job Title: Analytical Services Sampling & Contract Manager Contract Type:Permanent Location: Westland House, Belfast or Gelvin Grange Altnagelvin Salary: £35,354 to £47,138 per annum Closing Date & Time: Monday 17 Aug 2026 10:00 Hybrid working (available after 3 months following onboarding and training) Job Reference: About the Role: The Analytical Services Sampling and Contracts Manager is responsible for maintaining, monitoring and controlling the sampling and rescheduling requirements for Analytical Services for both regulatory and operational sampling events (Clean and Waste Waters). They also oversee the daily operations of the NI Water sample collection and subcontracted analysis contracts, and lead on development and implementation of the Analytical Services Business Continuity Plan. The post holder will also work closely with the Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) Team and alongside the NI Water Drinking Water, Environmental Regulation and Operational Scientific teams, to advise and assist in the planning and delivery of annual sampling schedules. They will provide sampling support to enable scientific staff to recommend, consider and appraise improvements to the Companys assets and their operation when required. Responsibilities: Manage all regulatory, operational and external sampling requirements for Analytical Services. Work with the Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) team to ensure annual sampling requirements are being met, including monitoring sample frequency/spread; and ad hoc operational requirements are scheduled in consultation with Laboratory Managers. Ensure that any sampling related issues are escalated promptly to the relevant authorities and in accordance with company procedures. Ensure that any asset failures (at the point of sampling) are reported back promptly to relevant Operational personnel. Undertake administrative tasks associated with sampling programmes/duties. Work with the analytical teams, operational colleagues and other stakeholders to ensure samples are scheduled and any requirements for rescheduling are agreed and completed as required. A 3rd level qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent 2. Demonstrable working knowledge of Drinking Water Regulations, Waste Water Regulations, ISO 17025, Drinking Water Testing Specification (DWTS) and the Monitoring Certification Scheme (MCERTS) 3. Proven people and resource management skills including budget management and performance management. 4. Demonstrable experience of effectively managing stakeholder relationships such as regulatory bodies and external customers and suppliers 5. As this post requires you to travel on official duty throughout Northern Ireland, you must have a full, current driving licence or access to a reliable means of transport, which will enable you to fulfil your responsibilities. This is an operational requirement and is essential to meet business needs. 6. Experience and demonstrable competence in IT including Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), and Microsoft applications including Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint and Power BI.
