Head of Infrastructure and Cloud Services
Job summary
The Head of Infrastructure & Cloud services will be a key member of the IT Infrastructure and Operations team within the NICE Digital, Information and Technology directorate.
The post holder will have responsibility for the delivery of day-to-day IT Infrastructure management and support as well as networking and Infrastructure as service (IaaS). The postholder will also be responsible for leading and managing the delivery of key projects associated with the IT infrastructure and the IaaS environment. The post holder will deputise for the Associate Director of IT Infrastructure and Operations on a number of areas and as such will develop good working relationships with NHS bodies and the Department of Health and Social Care.
The post holder will work with third party providers to deliver support and solutions and will be responsible for supporting highly available services configured according to industry standards.

Main duties of the job
The role requires a balance of technical expertise gained through current, hands-on system development, strong interpersonal and management skills, and the ability to build effective relationships in a complex environment. As Head of Infrastructure & Cloud Services, the post holder will work across coding, operational support, and system architecture. They will lead teams responsible for Infrastructure and IaaS support.
Key responsibilities include:
o Collaborating with delivery teams, providing leadership and support on IT Infrastructure and IaaS for digital services
o Delivering new IT projects, including specification, procurement, bid assessment, planning, and implementation
o Developing and embedding processes to ensure robust service delivery and business continuity for Infrastructure and IaaS
o Managing complex cyber security tools and services to ensure compliance with the NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit and Cyber Essentials Plus
o Conducting regular IT security vulnerability assessments, managing risks, and developing mitigation plans

Person Specification
Education
- Master's degree in a relevant subject or equivalent level of knowledge gained through experience and further training/development;
Experience
- Demonstrated and proven extensive experience in an IT Infrastructure role
Experience
- Demonstrated and proven extensive experience of operational management of Window servers, web servers and delivering a complex, distributed web application stack
Experience
- Demonstrated experience in establishing high performing teams and engaging staff in effective delivery of services as well as experience of directly managing staff including performance management and appraisals;
Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of using ITIL framework and standards to the delivery of IT infrastructure services
Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of supporting an Office 365, WAN connectivity and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure);
