Salary: £125-175k

Total compensation: £200k-300k

I am partnered with a leading global high frequency trading firm looking for a Platform Engineer to join their London office.

You'll join the Platform Engineering team which designs, builds, and operates the firm's global production trading infrastructure—from hardware and Linux systems to Kubernetes, observability, and build platforms.

They work with a mix of open-source and in-house technologies to solve scaling, reliability, and performance problems in a highly collaborative environment.

We're expanding the team with a Platform Engineer who enjoys building highly scalable systems, adopting new technologies, and debugging complex production issues.

Systems and platforms owned:

• In-house observability platform (ClickHouse, Redpanda, Rust)
• Firm-wide build and distribution systems
• Linux systems engineering for production trading
• On-prem Kubernetes clusters
• Hardware automation and operational tooling across global colocation facilities

Required skills and experience:

• No prior finance experience required
• Strong Linux systems expertise, including networking, containers, and low-level debugging
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Go, Python, or Rust)
• Experience with modern observability tooling (Prometheus, ClickHouse, Grafana)
• Proven experience designing and operating complex distributed systems
• Experience with configuration management (SaltStack, Ansible, Puppet)
• Strong root-cause analysis skills with a blameless, data-driven approach to incidents
