Network Operations (NOC) Engineer

Network Operations (NOC) Engineer

About the Company

We are a high-growth, European pan-regional financial technology company and challenger transaction venue operator. As part of a major international financial market infrastructure group, we build, operate, and license cutting-edge, low-latency exchange technology globally. Our business thrives on a culture of positive disruption, transparency, and high performance. We provide a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment where our operations teams keep global financial platforms running smoothly.

The Role

We are seeking a skilled, analytical, and highly proactive Network Operations (NOC) Engineer to join our expert, tight-knit Network Support team. Please note: This is a dedicated, production-critical Network Operations and live support role, not a project delivery or design position.

In this role, your primary focus will be maintaining the operational excellence, uptime, and daily stability of a high-performance network spanning low-latency trading infrastructure, on-premises data centers, and cloud environments. You will balance Real Time infrastructure monitoring and deep-dive troubleshooting with client connectivity onboarding during active trading hours.

  • Target Start Date: This position is live from 04/01/2027.

Key Responsibilities

  • Network Operations & Monitoring: Perform daily operational health checks across our core network, Firewalls, and security infrastructure to proactively identify and mitigate anomalies.
  • Troubleshooting & Packet Analysis: Methodically diagnose Real Time network and security issues using network monitoring platforms, logs, and deep packet captures to isolate root causes.
  • Client Onboarding & Support: Manage the end-to-end technical life cycle of client access requests, VPN configuration, connectivity onboarding, and decommissioning.
  • Live Platform Support: Monitor live financial platforms during trading hours, maintaining maximum platform stability (includes occasional hands-on operational visits to our East and West London data centers).
  • Change & Incident Management: Execute planned network changes, validate post-change functionality, and collaborate with providers to provision or troubleshoot external leased lines and circuits.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain pristine network diagrams, capacity plans, and operational support procedures.

What You Bring (Required Skills)

  • Experience: 4 to 8 years of dedicated experience within a Network Operations (NOC) or high-level Network Support environment.
  • Routing & Switching: Solid hands-on experience and troubleshooting knowledge of BGP, OSPF, and RSTP.
  • Hardware & Configuration: Experience with network and security configuration using Cisco or Arista platforms.
  • Security & Firewalls: Practical experience with Firewall Cluster management via a centralized Firewall manager, alongside VPN configuration and support.
  • Diagnostics Toolkit: Strong network and security troubleshooting experience using packet capture tools (Wireshark, TCPdump) and enterprise network monitoring platforms.
  • Certification Baseline: CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent level of verified technical experience.
  • Professional Attributes: Strong teamwork, exceptional communication skills, and a meticulous approach to documentation.
  • Role Alignment: A genuine desire to work and thrive in a fast-paced Network Operations/Support capacity.

Desirable Skills (Highly Advantageous)

  • Financial Services Exposure: Prior experience working within a trading, exchange, or financial market infrastructure environment.
  • Multicast Knowledge: Practical exposure to Multicast protocols, specifically IGMP and PIM.
  • Specialized Infrastructure: Experience or interest in Fortinet technologies and Precision Time Protocol (PTP) application.
  • Automation: Basic network automation skills using Ansible or Python Scripting.
