NPM's market data and intelligence is produced by a regionally based team of 50+ journalists, analysts and researchers providing full lifecycle coverage for utility-scale and distributed generation renewable energy projects and data centre developments across all major development and financial milestones.

Role Description

New Project Media (NPM) is seeking a driven individual contributor to grow our European Data Centre client base by winning new clients and serving and growing our existing accounts as a Business Development Manager.

This is a full-time London based hybrid role.

Key Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Overall, a Business Development Manager at NPM is responsible for acquiring new clients and driving revenue growth within the European Data Centre market.

• Prospecting: Identifying and researching potential data centre industry clients — including developers, operators, investors, and technology vendors — who could benefit from the NPM platform.

• Outreach: Reaching out to prospects through various channels, such as cold calling, email, or social media.

• Demonstrations: Presenting the platform's European Data Centre features and benefits to potential clients.

• Needs Analysis: Understanding the specific needs and pain points of potential clients.

• Proposal Development: Creating tailored proposals that address the client's needs and showcase the value of the NPM Data Centre platform.

• Negotiation: Negotiating contracts and pricing terms with potential clients.

• Closing Deals: Securing new business deals.

• Relationship Building: Developing and maintaining relationships with clients to ensure long-term customer satisfaction.

• Market Research: Keeping up-to-date on European data centre industry trends and competitor activities.

• Internal Collaboration: Working closely with other departments, such as marketing, sales operations, and customer success, to ensure a smooth sales process.

• Product Advocate: Act as the go-to product expert for a dedicated portfolio of data centre clients via in-person meetings, virtual meetings, phone and/or email to ensure they derive value from the NPM platform.

• Client Champion: Own client relationships and client success by analysing customer health and usage data to identify trends and opportunities to improve adoption and integrate feedback.

• Product Champion: Get critical feedback from prospective and existing end users to improve NPM's Data Centre service offering, identifying areas for improvement to ensure the product meets the needs of its target audience.

• Sales Specialist: Onboard new clients and deliver demo sessions tailored to the individual needs of the account and end-user using a consultative approach.

• Insights: Learn, comprehend, and demonstrate why and how each of our data centre client types and user personas engage with our product and data.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

• Prior experience with HubSpot or similar CRM preferred.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a keen eye for detail.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to pick up new systems and software easily.

• Interest in and curiosity about the data centre and digital infrastructure market.

• Multilingual capability (particularly European languages such as German, French, or Dutch) is a plus.
