Penetration Tester

I’m currently working with a growing cyber security consultancy looking to hire an Infrastructure Pen Tester / Cyber Security Consultant to join their offensive security team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with solid hands-on infrastructure testing experience who wants to join a consultancy that genuinely values technical ability, customer engagement, and people who are passionate about the industry.

The business is looking for someone who can hit the ground running. Ideally, you’ll come from a strong infrastructure or networking background before moving into penetration testing, as they place huge value on understanding how systems and networks actually work beneath the surface.

The environment would suit someone who is naturally curious, technically driven, and actively involved in cyber security outside of work through home labs, research, personal projects, certifications, events, or community involvement.

Key experience they’re looking for:

• Hands-on infrastructure penetration testing experience

• Strong Active Directory and internal network testing knowledge

• Excellent networking fundamentals including subnetting, routing, segmentation, etc.

• Good Linux and Windows knowledge

• Experience with Microsoft 365 / Entra / Defender / CrowdStrike

• Strong report writing and customer communication skills

• Ability to clearly articulate technical findings to clients

Desired certifications include:

• OSCP

• CSTL

• CCNA

This is not the right role for someone relying heavily on automated tooling without understanding the underlying infrastructure. The team is looking for technically capable consultants who genuinely care about the quality of their work and customer experience.

Additional requirements:

• UK based

• Must have lived in the UK for 5+ years

• Strong written and spoken English

• Eligibility for security clearance highly desirable

The role is remote but there will be some client visits as and when required but this is a remote first option.
