Software Engineer (Newcastle Upon Tyne)

Job Title: Junior .NET Developer

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 (DOE)

Role Overview:

As a Junior Developer, you’ll work closely with experienced engineers and contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications built primarily using .NET and C#. You'll be encouraged to learn, ask questions, and grow your technical skills in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain web and desktop applications using .NET Core / .NET Framework and C#.
• Build responsive user interfaces with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Work with front-end frameworks/libraries such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Collaborate with designers and UX teams to implement UI/UX best practices.
• Integrate front-end components with back-end services and APIs.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging across the stack.
• Learn and grow under the mentorship of experienced developers.

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong foundational knowledge of C# and the .NET Framework or .NET Core
• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Willingness to work with modern JavaScript libraries or frameworks (e.g., Angular, React)
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and client-server architecture
• Enthusiasm to learn and grow in both back-end and front-end development
• Good communication and problem-solving skills

Desirable Skills:

• Exposure to Entity Framework, ASP.NET MVC, or Blazor
• Experience using version control (e.g., Git)
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum workflows
• Knowledge of responsive design principles or cross-browser compatibility
