Infrastructure Security Design

What you'll be doing:Senior Associate Consultant - Infrastructure Security Design Working under direct supervision, you will apply your developing expertise in network security, infrastructure technologies, and security controls to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure infrastructure solutions. You will contribute to infrastructure security projects, perform security configurations, and develop your skills across network security technologies while receiving regular guidance from senior team members.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESInfrastructure Security Implementation Support Assist in implementing network security controls including firewalls, IPS/IDS, and proxies under supervisionConfigure basic network security policies and access control lists following approved designsSupport network segmentation implementations and VLAN configurationsAssist with VPN setup and secure remote access solution deploymentsDocument network security configurations and changes accuratelyPerform routine security device maintenance and updates under guidanceSecurity Technology Configuration Support deployment and configuration of security technologies including SIEM, EDR, and endpoint protectionAssist in integrating security tools with existing infrastructure under supervisionConfigure security monitoring rules and alerts based on approved templatesSupport security technology testing and validation activitiesMaintain security tool inventories and configuration documentationTroubleshoot basic security technology issues with senior guidanceSecurity Configuration and Hardening Apply security hardening standards to servers, workstations, and network devices under supervisionImplement CIS Benchmark configurations for Windows and Linux systemsPerform security baseline assessments using automated scanning toolsDocument configuration compliance status and exceptionsSupport remediation activities for configuration vulnerabilitiesMaintain secure configuration templates and standard operating proceduresSecurity Monitoring and Incident Support Monitor security alerts and events from SIEM and security tools under guidancePerform initial triage of security incidents and escalate appropriatelyAssist in security incident investigations and evidence collectionDocument security incidents and response actions takenSupport routine security health checks and operational tasksContribute to security monitoring process improvementsTechnical Documentation and Reporting Create and maintain accurate technical documentation for security implementationsProduce network diagrams, configuration guides, and runbooks under supervisionDocument security procedures and operational workflowsContribute to knowledge base articles and technical wikisPrepare routine security status reports and metricsMaintain project documentation and deliverable repositoriesSecurity Testing and Validation Perform straightforward security testing activities under supervisionConduct vulnerability scans and analyze results with guidanceValidate security control implementations against requirementsSupport penetration testing activities and remediation verificationTest security patches and updates in lab environmentsDocument testing results and findings clearlyKEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORSQuality and accuracy of security configurations and implementations completedTimeliness in completing assigned tasks and project deliverablesQuality of technical documentation and knowledge contributionsResponsiveness to security incidents and monitoring alertsProgress in professional development and certification achievementsAbility to work independently on routine tasks while seeking guidance appropriatelyWhat experience you'll bring:REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIESFoundational Security Technical SkillsBasic understanding of network security principles and architecturesFamiliarity with firewall concepts and basic configuration (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet)Knowledge of common security technologies (antivirus, IPS/IDS, proxies)Understanding of Windows and Linux operating system securityBasic scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation tasksNetwork and Infrastructure FundamentalsNetwork protocols: TCP/IP fundamentals, routing basics, switching, VLANsNetwork services: DNS, DHCP, NTP, Active Directory basicsVirtualization: Basic VMware or Hyper-V knowledgeOperating systems: Windows Server administration, Linux command lineCloud basics: Awareness of AWS, Azure, or GCP security conceptsSecurity Tools and TechnologiesExperience with or willingness to learn SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel)Familiarity with endpoint protection platforms (CrowdStrike, Carbon Black, Defender)Knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys, OpenVAS)Understanding of network monitoring and packet analysis toolsBasic knowledge of security automation and orchestration conceptsProfessional SkillsStrong attention to detail and accuracy in technical workGood written and verbal communication skillsAbility to follow documented procedures and best practicesWillingness to learn and develop new technical skillsTeam collaboration and ability to seek guidance when neededTime management and prioritization of assigned tasksCertifications RequiredSecurity+ or equivalent foundation security certification -
