Senior Cyber Security Analyst

Are you an experienced cyber security professional who wants to use your skills to support NHS services?
NTW Solutions is looking for a Senior Cyber Security Analyst to join our Digital Services Cyber Security team. This is an important role helping to protect the systems, information and services used across Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust and NTW Solutions.
We are looking for someone who can combine strong technical knowledge with clear communication. You will help turn complex cyber security information into practical advice, reports, evidence and improvement actions. You will also support incident response, vulnerability management, assurance activity and the development of cyber security controls, policies and procedures.
Main duties of the job
This role would suit someone with experience in cyber security, infrastructure, cloud services or enterprise technology. Experience of Microsoft security technologies such as Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Intune and Defender would be helpful. We would also welcome experience of areas such as vulnerability management, incident response, SIEM or Managed Detection and Response services, supplier assurance, cyber security frameworks or NHS information governance requirements.

We are willing to be flexible on location and happy to discuss this with candidates. We have main sites in Sunderland, Newcastle, Morpeth and Carlisle and you're welcome to be based in any of those and most of the team work on a hybrid basis. We would also be willing to consider full home working.

Pay: Band C - £52,029 per annum / £26.61 per hour.
Please note that all jobs will be appointed on the NTW Solutions Limited terms and conditions (not NHS/A4C terms).
If you currently work for NTW Solutions on AfC terms and conditions, you will be given the choice to retain these or move onto NTW Solutions terms and conditions. Please note that the above advertised salary will not apply if you choose to remain on AfC.
Anyone currently paying into the NHS Pension scheme will be able to retain this
Person Specification
Experience
- Significant experience working in a cyber security, infrastructure, cloud or enterprise Digital Services environment. This may include areas such as security monitoring, vulnerability management, incident response, security assurance, Microsoft security technologies or security analytics.
- Experience of line managing, supervising, supporting, coaching or providing technical direction to cyber security or technical staff.
- Experience of SIEM, Managed Detection and Response, threat intelligence, supplier assurance or third-party cyber security activities.
Skills and Knowledge
- Good understanding of cyber security principles and enterprise security controls across servers, endpoints, networks, identity, cloud services and applications, including Microsoft security technologies where relevant.
- Ability to identify, assess and communicate cyber security risks, vulnerabilities and compliance gaps, and support the implementation of proportionate remediation and security improvements.
- Knowledge of recognised cyber security frameworks, standards and guidance, such as DSPT, CAF, CIS Controls, NCSC guidance or NIST, and experience of supporting compliance or assurance activity.
- Ability to communicate technical cyber security information clearly to a range of audiences and produce high-quality documentation, reports, procedures, risk assessments and assurance evidence.
- Ability to provide cyber security advice, work collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams, support secure design and influence positive security outcomes.
- Awareness of NHS cyber security, information governance, clinical service delivery requirements or the NHS Secure Email Standard.
Education and Qualifications
- Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or able to demonstrate equivalent experience in cyber security or enterprise IT.
- Relevant cyber security qualification such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, CISA, SC-200, SC-300 or equivalent.
